We rented bikes and rode the 7 1/2 mile lane that circles the island.
The 18-hole golf course was really two 9-hole courses. One was next to the hotel and for the other a valet picked up our golf bags and loaded them (and us) onto a carriage for a unique shuttle to the second course - a 25 minute ride to the other side of the island.
On the way back we drove past summer "cottages" that are not winterized. The ferry to the island only runs from May to October, so the only way there is by small plane or
by snowmobile over a frozen Lake Michigan.
Afternoon tea was served in the elegant parlor.
After 6:00 PM jackets and ties were required for men
and ladies were requested to wear their "finest".

After dinner, demitasse was served in the parlor before the orchestra began
the ballroom dance music.

Sadly, we said goodbye to the Island.
