Emerald Princess Caribbean Cruise
St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands |
We were greeted by several iguanas lying on the rocks near the cruise ship in the port city of Charlotte Amalie. | On the other side of the island; Sapphire Bay displayed a deserted, white sand beach. We saw schools of squid, sea turtles and tropical fish while snorkeling in the coral reefs and sea grasses. |
Grand Turk |
Grand Turk had an amazing beach right by the dock. We walked off the ship and were able to snorkel, and sit in the shade of the palm trees. Margaritaville was right behind us playing great island music.
Princess Cays, Eleuthera Island, Bahamas |
Ho, hum, another gorgeous island. This one is owned by the cruise line; so food, lounge chairs and many activities were free. |
Ocho Rios, Jamaica |
We visited the crafts market in Ocho Rios and watched one of the artistan/vendors carving a fish that he would later sell for a ridiculously low price. | In the back of the Farmer's Market, we were shown the carts used to bring the produce to town. These trolleys were like the ones used in the move "Cool Runnings" about the Jamaican Bob Sled team.
Grand Cayman |
Seven Mile Beach (really only 5 miles long) was a beautiful stretch of white sand that lots of people found! | The water in Grand Cayman (the background of this page) was the color of blue popscicles. |
We got lucky once again with our tablemates - Fred & Cathy, from Pennsylvania; Ron & Lori, from Trinidad & Germany (now Florida); and Mike & Ann, from Worcester, England. |
