Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

Welcome to Paradise. Pick a hammock or a palm covered bench.

We decided to walk to the Southern end of the island where it was just us and a lizard
on a beach strewn with conch shells.

SamanĂ¡, Dominican Republic

The small town of SamanĂ¡ had freshly painted shops and manicured lawns all along the main street facing the port.   But the actual city was less wealthy than the first street appeared. We hired a motorcycle driver with a rickshaw attached for a two hour tour of the area.

Up in the mountains, the views were stunning with
lush green and palm-filled valleys.
We hiked to a small waterfall in Honduras (no not the country), a small village in the Dominican Republic.

Many houses did not have running water; and we saw people filling pans and buckets at a community water tap.   The markets were full of guanabana, bananas,
guavas and citrus fruits.

Bonaire, Netherland Antilles

We did a couple of drift snorkels on the reefs of Klein Bonaire, a small island near Kralendijk, the capital of Bonaire.

Curaçao, Netherland Antilles

To enter the port in Willemstad, Curaçao the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge had to be swung open. When it was shut again, hundreds of pedestrians crossed. The architectural styles along the canal reminded us of Amsterdam.

Boats filled with produce lined the
"Floating Market" in the city center.
We rented a car to drive through the island. Near the center we saw a large flock of pink flamingos.

The Church of St. Willebrordus was surrounded by
rock and cactus.
At Playa Poromari, we snorkeled from the shore
out to the reef.

Aruba, Netherland Antilles

The uninhabited south end of Aruba was
flat, green and full of cactus.
We spent a great day at Baby Beach with no more than a dozen other people.
