The Grand Hotel was the highlight of our trip.

It really is Grand. After a 20 minute ferry ride out to the island, we arrived to a busy little crowded street that screamed tourist trap. No motor vehicles are allowed on the island, so we hoofed it (pun intended, lots of people were on horses and in carriages) out of there as quickly as we could. The rest of the island was beautiful - the hotel and its grounds, the golf course, the walking and bike paths and the fabulous summer cottages.
